Groups

Yellow Group

The Yellow Group accepts children from the age of 3. The emphasis here is on play. Children are offered a wide variety of activities and are gently encouraged to explore them. Typical favourite activities of this age group are playing with dough, digging in the sandpit, racing around the cycle track and painting.

Blue Group

The Blue Group caters primarily for 4 year olds. Here friendships are being established and children are more actively encouraged to participate in activities. Cutting skills are developing and paintings are beginning to show form. The Dolly Corner and Fantasy area are housed in the Blue Room.

Green Group

The children turn 5 in this group. They participate in "Special work" and are divided into four groups in order to facilitate a low teacher/learner ratio during this period. This enables the teacher to work closely with no more than 7 children in a group. They are encouraged to be responsible and independent.

Grade R

This is the official School Readiness year and the programme followed ably equips children to enter Grade 1. Incorporated in our programme is the Matal system, a Maths and Science approach to learning initiated in Israel. The children also do"Letterland", and pre-reading and pre-writing skills are taught.
